Latex-Based Membrane for Oily Wastewater Filtration: Study on the Sulfur Concentration Effect

Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) latex/graphene oxide (GO) membranes were fabricated through a latex compounding and curing method which is relatively new to produce for wastewater treatment. Hence, the steps in production of membrane this approach need be evaluated optimize performance membrane. In paper, effect sulfur loading range 0.5 1.5 parts per hundred (phr) on morphology, crosslink density, tensile properties, permeation flux oil rejection rate NBR/GO was studied. The found influence surface morphology integrity turn affects terms strength, water oil. Inaccurate produced with micro cracks, low area filtration could not withstand pressure. research work, 1.0 phr provides highest value 834.1 L/m2·hr 92.23%, respectively. Surface sulfur-loaded revealed formation continuous high structural wrinkles folded structure. Furthermore, cracks less effective observed loading.
